Do you think a drop from $2.3 billion to $40 million in investments is significant? The heavy costs of playing political with clean teach…

Austalia seems to be suffering a massive drop in investment in renewables.

Of the $63 billion invested in renewables over the last quarter, just $40 million went to Australia.  This is quite a drop from what used to be one of the leading jurisdictions in carbon control and clean energy.  To give a sense of comparison, in 2013 there was $2.7 billion invested in renewables in Australia.

Analysts are pointing to the new Coalition government as the reason for this drop in investment. Anti-clean energy and climate change deniers who have been attempting to abruptly cancel the bulk of Australia’s renewable support and carbon reducing programs.

It seems these ideologues might cost cost Australia quite a bit.  Would Ontario have been going the same way if Hudak and the progressives conservatives had won?
